The Sweeney or The Professionals?
|
I'd go for Bodie & Doyle as my parents got me a Professionals toy pack (gun with holster, ID badge, hand-cuffs, camera etc.) when I was 7.

The Sweeney by a mile, seemed a lot more gritty and realistic.

Cant decide between Sweeney & Profs. Loved them both.
Can understand the purists preferring Sweeney but Professionals was good make believe.
Anyone who said they're both shit has something wrong with them.

Born in 74, so was a little young for the Sweeney.
Cop shows that I felt were must watch in my youth, were Starsky and Hutch and Chips, though I did like the Professionals.
The Equalizer was also superb, but he wasn't a rozzer.

Neither. Both rubbish.
Minder and Starsky and Hutch was where it was at.

"we're the Sweeney son, and we haven't had any dinner" john thaw spawned a thousand wannabe DI's in the real CID. The man captured exactly what it was to be a Detective in the 1970's and 80's. if you don't play by the rules don't expect the old bill to either, just do what's right!

Agreed Starsky and Hutch was a great show. Out of Sweeney and Professionals probably The Professionals.

As a youngster, it was all about The Professionals back in the day, leather jackets, guns and a Ford Capri - superb!
A few years later I watched Comic Strip's The Bullshitters and it all put things into perspective, no wonder Martin Shaw hates it being shown.
Didn't really watch The Sweeney when it was being aired and prefer Waterman as Terry McCann
